someone he wasn't and suppressing his dominant tendencies, he takes the leap
into the world of BDSM under the guidance of his friend and mentor, never to
look back.
But the dark
past and his heinous actions are hard to forget and even more difficult to
leave behind. Will he be able to move forward and become the man he yearns to
be?
This is
Sawyer's journey into becoming Dominant, Master, Sir.
~LORIE’S REVIEW~
The Art of D/s is my absolute favorite series
ever, so I was very excited when I heard Ella was giving Sawyer his own story. I have to warn you though and say this is NOT like The Art of D/s series. Please do
not go into this with preconceived notions of what Sawyer’s story is or what you
want it to be. I did, and I don't want
to say I am disappointed but it’s not what I was expecting. In the end, I did enjoy Saywer’s story, but I
wish mentally I had broken the link to The Art of D/s before I opened the first
page.
I haven't read a book where a Dom learns
the art. So this was a new experience for me.
It's different and more personal because we see into Sawyer. The story is slow building since training is
different from when someone is already practicing or living the lifestyle.
“Sometimes our balance has to be upset and our course reset to help us navigate us to our final destination.”
Sawyer isn’t sure what he wants, but he’s
done denying his curiosity and desires. It’s
more than Sawyer becoming a Dom. It is about discovering himself, finding his
path, and understanding his own wants and needs. I always liked Sawyer, but he's basically been
a closed book until now. He learns that
in order for this to work, he needs to be open and honest and communicate with his
partner. It is amazing to see the real
man under his closed off exterior. The
open communication forces Sawyer to reluctantly explore is past an open up
about it.
Sawyer is a natural Dominant. Seeing him in the Art of D/s books, I would have expected Sawyer would be a more hard core Dom than he ends up being. But nonetheless, I really liked seeing the real Sawyer come out.
There is a lot of dialogue -- really really good..... and sexy dialogue. Domination is about coaxing out consent and submission and the key is
COMMUNICATION. I loved every single word that fall out of Sawyer's hot mouth. A lot of the dialogue was
sexier than the actual act. I think my
favorite part of this book IS the dialogue.
I truly do love Ella's writing. It’s some of the BEST around. While Becoming Sir isn’t my favorite Ella
creation (The Art of D/s always will be), I still really enjoyed it. If you were intrigued by Sawyer from Ella's other books, DEFINITELY pick up Becoming Sir!!! I think you will really fall under Sawyer's spell.

~ABOUT THE AUTHOR~
I'm a full-time
mom, wifey, healthcare worker, and wanna be switch. I was born and raised in a
sexually repressed, strict Christian household in the bible belt of the USA.
This upbringing and repression contributed to my wicked imagination and writing
has been my only outlet for my sexual fantasies. Finally at the ripe and
sexually primed age of 40, I mustered up enough courage to share my naughty
thoughts and put pen to paper. I sincerely hope to find my niche in writing
erotica in all forms, be it romance or paranormal.
I don't
consider myself an author. I consider myself an avid reader above all else, and
someone who simply writes the stories that the characters in my head tell me
to.
