Jani has been married for a long time to a special man, and her two children and their partners are the sunshine in her life. She is a voracious reader and would spend her last dollar on a book - always fascinated that for the mere price of a book, she can escape her world for a while and see through someone else's eyes.

Besides reading, her favorite 'thing' is traveling - she has traveled the world, learning about the ways people live and has come to the realization that no matter where we live, we all ultimately want the same things. Her hobby - Scrapbooking - keeps her up till way after midnight and her usual subjects are her family and her travels.

Ever since she can remember, Jani wanted to write stories about people, about their lives and loves. Relationships and Happiness - arguably the most difficult things to master in life and yet exactly what everyone ultimately desires (in her humble opinion).

Searching For Tomorrow by Kathryn McNeill Crane: Blog Tour Review

Buy Links

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.

Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.

What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Wrynn can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for her tomorrow.

Kathryn McNeill Crane totally Molly McAdam'ed Me!!!!!

Sometimes you are lucky enough to come across a book that touches your heart. A book that stays with you for days after reading it.  This book was so much more than I expected, and I thought it was spelled out for me in the synopsis.

"What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

...only her forever love ended much too soon."

Knowing that I was going to be reading about a woman who not only lost her husband, but the father of her children still did not prepare me for the amount of tears I was going to shed. Reading about a family doing their best to move on after something so tragic nearly killed me. As a child who comes from a military family I have sadly seen that black car, I have held my friends while they cried of the loss of a parent. I have had friends die without an answer. I have to say that I love the way Kathryn moved the book from past to present...it made getting to know Wrynn a lot easier.

"Tripp was my best friend, my lover, my confidant, my soul mate. He was the salt to my pepper. He was the peanut butter to my chocolate, and he alone brought me love and hope and joy. Together we created our three beautiful girls and together we looked at the world as ours to conquer. In short, he was my other half, the part that completed me."

I have to also take a minute to say that Tripp and Wrynn may be one of my favorite fictional couples ever! Their relationship is not always perfect, but it is real. It's refreshing to see a couple that deals with issues we all face, and not just issues we wish we had (poor sad billionaire).  Even though the sex scenes are not graphic as most readers have become used to it's really not needed. This relationship is full of promise and hope...and it's easy to see that they truly are soul mates.

The hardest parts to take are the parts you would expect. Even though there are tears every single one is worth it. There is no cliff hanger but I will be honest in saying that this book leaves you wanting more! More of Tripp, Wrynn, Liam, Annie, Bekah, Maggie, and the rest of the family. This book is a million star read! I can't remember the last time I loved one this much!

Kathryn M. Crane...you are a feckin' superstar! I am honored that you were brave enough to put pen to paper...or more accurately fingers to keyboard. Writers are a different breed of magic. They have the ability to create a world that exists for us, weather only during our brief time reading it, or one that stays with us for longer. Congratulations on making such an amazing piece of art. You, my dear, are made of pure magic :)

If you are reading this, I think you should know that "About me" sounds so very pretentious to me. I guess that is what I am supposed to write about, so here it goes!

Kathryn is a simple country girl who likes to spend time with her hubba, hunka hubby, her three kids and her friends. She loves to cook and really loves to eat! During the spring and summer, you will more than likely find her outside puttering around in her garden. When the veggies start coming in, she will probably be sweating over a hot canner in the kitchen, canning all the goodies she is blessed with. Kathryn likes to hike and go camping, and as a Girl Scout leader, she gets to do this pretty often! On cold winter nights, you will probably find her wrapped in a warm blanket, lost in a good book, while sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch!

Kathryn was born and raised in North Carolina, and while she loves to travel, she can't imagine ever leaving the mountains that she has come to call home. Not a day goes by that Kathryn doesn't thank God for abundantly blessing her. He has been so good to her, and she is very grateful. She holds Jeremiah 29:11 very close to her heart and believes it with every fiber of her being. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Kathryn loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between her toes. As far back as she can remember, she's had a book in her hand. Reading has carried her to places she will never go. It has introduced her to people that she will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, she's always been able to find a book to carry her through. She finally decided to write down some of the stories in her head (yes, be scared) and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. She hopes you enjoy reading those stories as much as she loves writing them!

Only For You by Genna Rulon: Review

“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”

All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned.

When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar by her best friend, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, a tempestuous relationship is born.

Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate—that fickle shrew—continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication…Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.
Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption—brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance.

• This story is appropriate for readers 18+
• Only For You is the first book in the For You series by Genna Rulon. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone novel.

Is it bad that it wasn’t the hero I fell for in this one?  It was the unassuming dark horse you never would have expected.  We’ll get to “him” later.  Let’s talk about Only For You first.

What made me want to pick this up in the first place????  These 3 simple words from the synopsis: “Verbal warfare ensues”.  I’ll admit it… those 3 words got me!!!  I love characters that “hate” each other because the verbal punches and snide remarks mixed with chemistry make for one great story.  I shamelessly messaged Genna for a review copy all because of those 3 words.  And, let me tell you she did NOT disappoint in the verbal warfare department.

Everleigh and Hunter meet when her best friend, Sam, twists her arm to attend a self-defense class sponsored by the University they attend.  Hunter just happens to be the instructor.  But Everleigh’s smart and sarcastic mouth (which I love) gets her thrown out of class.   Swearing off self-defense class, Everleigh decides she’s done with Mr. Hunter Charles (or so she thinks)…….. until he shows up in her classes.  The poor girl can’t get away from him, and he’s not making it easy for Everleigh.  Well, Mr. Charles has thrown down the gauntlet and Everleigh has graciously accepted.  What ensues is a battle filled with witty banter, personal jibes, and insults.  After a while, the battle turns to friendship which eventually turns to love.  But the road isn’t without its share of bumps, complications, and surprises.  In the background, the attacks which prompted the self-defense classes escalate, and Everleigh and Hunter are not immune to their impact.

There are quite a few secondary characters that will have you looking over your shoulder questioning their every move, and ONE that I totally fell in love with.  There’s definitely an air of suspense in this one.  It’s just of matter of when and how something is going to happen.  Genna developed the suspense well.  Of course my favorite parts of Only For You are the verbal warring and “him”.  (okay, okay… I liked the romance between Hunter and Everleigh too)  So who is “him”?  Griffin the bartender.  I’m not saying much about him other than he was the silver lining in this one for me.  You need to read Only For You and meet Griffin for yourself.

Overall, I liked the story, the writing style, and the characters.  The pace and flow were nice.  At times, the dialogue was a bit formal and stiff, but with this being her first novel I think that’s to be expected and with time I’m sure Genna will only continue to perfect her style.

I’m looking forward to what Genna bring us next.  Know why?????  Because Pieces For You brings back my dark horse, Griffin!!!!!  Pieces For You is expected to be released December 17th.

(Want to know what Hunter really thought of Everleigh during their first few encounters?  Genna gives us the peek into Hunter's heads with a short story from his POV.  Check it out here!)

Soar by Alyssa Rose Ivy: Excerpt

In the city that never sleeps the Chronicles continue…

Serving coffee is temporary, just like Casey's year off from school. She’s going to come up with a plan to stay in New York City and go back to college, and that plan does not involve dating a paranormal creature—let alone two.

Running the supernatural society of New York is not as fun as it sounds, especially when you still have to answer to your ex-girlfriend’s fiancĂ©. Toby doesn’t mean to bring Casey into the chaos of his life, but he can't resist the girl who makes him smile when he thought no one else ever could.

Jared's in New York checking out a security risk for his best friend, the king. He plans to return to New Orleans quickly, but not if it means losing his chance with the brunette who pretends she wants nothing to do with him.

In over her head with a bunch of winged creatures who most definitely are not angels, Casey has to figure out who to trust with her life and maybe her heart.

I slowly opened the door and my jaw dropped. Standing there was a shirtless guy with a body that couldn’t be real. Hard. Muscular. Perfect. That’s the way I’d describe his chest. He had abs that would make underwear models jealous.  My eyes zeroed in on a few beads of sweat making a descent down his chest. When they reached his stomach, I forced my eyes up to his face.

He grinned. “So you’re why Toby isn’t getting the job done.”

“What?” I asked, forcing my eyes to stop looking at his chiseled abs.

“You’d distract me too.” He didn’t bother to hide his appraisal.

I looked down and crossed my arms. I met his eyes again and was met by an expression of humor and want that nearly melted me.

“I’m just staying here.” I felt the need to explain myself. If not for my sake or dignity, for Toby’s.  I promised myself it wasn’t because I wanted this sexy guy to know I was single.

“Staying here, huh?” He smiled. “Well, you can stay at my place anytime.”

“Do you live around here?” His wider grin made me regret the words. “I’m just wondering. Not because I want to stay with you.”

“I’m from New Orleans, but I have a place here too—at least I’m borrowing it.”

“Oh. Well, Toby isn’t here.”

“You already said that.” He stepped into the apartment. “Know where he is?”

“No. I don’t.” I took a few steps back.

He matched my movements, ending up just as close to me as he was before. “No kiss goodbye this morning?”

“That would have been hard since I was in the guest room.” I put a hand on my hip. Sexy or not, I wasn’t going to let this guy get to me.

“Guest room? Likely.”

I could feel my blood boiling. How was he getting under my skin so easily? “It’s true. If you’ll excuse me, I need to get my stuff and go home.”

“Are you going to wear that?” He gestured to my outfit, and that’s when I remembered what I was sleeping in.

I willed myself not to blush, but I could practically feel the blood rushing to my face.

“I’m guessing those are the guest pajamas, huh?”

“I just borrowed them… Wait, why am I bothering to explain myself to you?”

“I don’t know, you tell me.” He took another step toward me.

“I know the kind of guy you are.”

“You do? Please, tell me. I can’t wait to hear this assessment.”

“You’re arrogant, pig headed, and you think a girl’s just going to fall to her knees if you take your shirt off…” To my credit, I was still standing. “Speaking of which, why is your shirt off?”

He smirked. “Why do you think it’s off?  Since apparently you’re the expert on guys like me. I’m going to ignore the fall to their knees comment. You look cute when you blush, but it might push you over the edge.”

Marked. Part I: The Missing Link by JM Sevilla: Review

Warning: This book contains violence, excessive language, and strong sexual content. It's intended to be read by mature audiences.

Part one of a two part series.

There are three things Lily Evans immediately notices about her new neighbor, Jay Lincoln. The first is his monstrous size, the second is the malicious way he glares at her, and thirdly, but most importantly, the three scars that mark his right eye. She knows the smart thing to do is stay away, but she has never met or seen anyone like him. The more time she spends with this frightening yet captivating man, the harder it becomes. He can make her hairs stand on end but he also has a sweetness to him that tugs at her heart. Soon she finds herself merged into his world full of murder, revenge, and deceit.

UNPUTDOWNABLE… INTENSE…. RIVETING…. EDGE OF YOUR SEAT SUSPENSE

WOW!!!!!! JUST…. WOW!!!!! What the hell was that? I’ll tell you what THAT is. THAT is the best book I have read all year!!!!

You need to go buy this book NOW! Don’t write it down for later, don’t put it on your TBR, don’t say ok after the book I am reading….. GO. GRAB. IT. NOW!

I have been on a roll lately choosing books and thoroughly enjoying them, but Marked is off the charts. I cannot fully describe how much I loved this book. This is so effing original and mind-blowingly impressive. JM Sevilla writes a story that temps you, pulls you in, then never lets you go. Even once the book ends, it will still have you in its clutches.

I feel bad having only paid 99 cents for this work of shear brilliance that I’m almost embarrassed to admit what I paid for it. 99 cents buys you practically nothing these days. I can’t even ride the subway in Boston for what I paid for this book. Amazon needs to give you the option to pay additional money to an author as sort of a tip for great reading instead of great service. I gladly would have paid five times the price for this one.

I have never been this off balance while reading a book. Yes I have been engrossed in a book before, but this was just crazy. I really hate the fact that this book renders you unable to keep track of time. And, the writing is just as hypnotic as the story and its characters. It is so engrossing it feels real when you are reading -- almost like you're living it.

Holy crap does JM Sevilla create a captivating, mysterious, and sexy hero. I was utterly mesmerized by Jay. He definitely had my heart racing and butterflies in my stomach. And if you read Marked for nothing other than the first kiss…. then it was worth the price of admission. It was the most amazing first kiss ever! I’m telling you that was some serious hotness.

It’s been a long time since I’ve said this. I love love love the heroine, Lily. She's sweet but tough and kind of sassy not to mention funny. Jay and Lily make a great pair. JM Sevilla has created characters that are just so lovable.

I don’t want to say much about the story or the plot because that is the best part of Marked.  Marked is like opening the best Christmas present EVER because it is something you never expected but everything you ever wanted. I am glad that when I picked this up there weren’t many reviews because having read it, I would have been very upset had I known anything more than what the synopsis revealed. So, I am NOT going to say anything about the storyline. Trust me, you’d hate me if I did. Do yourself a favor, don’t read too many reviews. This one is best gone into with just a little faith and a lot of anticipation.

So, if you like bad ass, mysterious, and dangerous guys THIS IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU! Everything about this book is heart pounding from the action to the sex right down to the dialogue and interaction between Jay and Lily. This book is DEFINITELY my favorite read of 2013.

Book 2 where are you and when can I expect you??? I have a place on my Kindle just waiting for you. Well, the author tells me we can expect more of Jay and Lily’s story around March 2014. Since Marked is the first book in the series, I know you’re thinking “is there a cliffhanger?” Yes and no. Yes, there’s more to the story, but I’m happy were Marked ended. To me it was the perfect spot. And, based on the story I am not one bit upset I need to wait for book 2. I don’t feel like the story could have ended in Marked. Jay and Lily’s story deserves to be told the right way and that warrants another book.

This is one to READ. ENJOY. REPEAT. It’s definitely a one for my To Be Read AGAIN list!!!! Mark my words. JM Sevilla is a name you will want to remember.
