Lily of the Valley by Sarah Daltry: Review

Plagued by a dark past, Jack sees college as a way out. Desperate to escape the area where he grew up, the people who know his secrets, and his own family, he deals with his problems through alcohol and meaningless sex.

When he first sees Lily, she's the epitome of everything he hates. Yet something about her makes Jack rethink everything he knows and assumes about other people. Now, with the help of his best friend and lover, Jack has to decide if he wants to pursue something that he knows will only end badly.

Can Lily be one of the few people who can see Jack for who he really is - or will his darkness be too much for her to handle?

Lily of the Valley is an alternate POV of the book Forget Me Not by Sarah Daltry. I have read several of Sarah’s books and have always loved them. This book was another I will forever be in love with. The story opens with Jack, he is the typical bad boy/loner everyone tends to avoid but girls always want to fix (and… cough cough jump in bed with). He has had some bad times in life that made him feel alone in the world. When in truth he has a best friend that would do anything for him, even if she is going through so many things on her own, and a grandmother that just wants him to have a great relationship with his father. Jack made me want to wrap him up in a hug and tell him I love him more than words. Well that is when I wasn’t wishing I had a boyfriend in college that was just as hot in bed as Jack… for being so  young he has some serious moves that even the most experienced men should learn. (Which reminds me I should have my husband read it.. wink wink)

Lily is the typical college girl who is loved by all. She does not want anything to do with Jack even though he is more than willing to show her a great time. Lily reminds me of myself when I was younger, not much freaks her out but when it does it’s a big deal. When she loves she gives it everything she has which makes her perfect for beautiful Jack. Lily really brings this story to life and shows how wonderful Jack really is without her changing herself to do it.
Over all this book was a wonderful read and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great book that will take you deeper into the story then most books these days will. I am going to give this book 5 stars because it is not very often I am unable to put the book down and reply back to a text to someone. This book not only took me away from reality it also had me thinking of it days later. Hope you all enjoy this book as much as I have! <3

Sarah Daltry writes erotica and romance that ranges from sweet to steamy. She moves around a lot and has trouble committing to things. Lily of the Valley is her third full length novel, although she also has several story collections and two novellas available. Her other novels are Forget Me Not, the story that tells Lily’s version of events, and Bitter Fruits, which will be released by Escape Publishing in December 2013. When Sarah isn’t writing, she tends to waste a lot of time checking Facebook for pictures of cats, shooting virtual zombies, and simply staring out the window.
