Known only as Lydia, she becomes controlled by three very different men – the malicious Preston, the inflexible Kruin, and the gentle Gabriel, all of whom introduce her to a world in which the lines between pleasure, pain and shame are irrevocably blurred. The plantation becomes both Lydia’s haven and her prison as she surrenders to the desires of her unholy trinity.

Synopsis
SUBMISSION IS HER ONLY POWER...and her desperate means of control.

When Lydia is ordered to leave the haven of the Louisiana plantation known as La Nouvelle Vie, she thinks she is free from the twisted desires of her dark trinity. Yet as she struggles with the question of whether or not she even wants to be free, Lydia finds herself again submitting to the depraved demands of the obsessive Preston Severine.

AS IN THE EROTIC DARK, THIS BOOK CONTAINS GRAPHIC SCENES OF SPANKING, CANING, DUBIOUS CONSENT, ENFORCED SUBMISSION, AND EXPLICIT SEX.

Read only if these themes do not offend you!

Lydia has made mistakes, and these have led her to the Louisiana plantation known as La Nouvelle Vie. Run by a childhood acquaintance La Nouvelle Vie is a sanctuary for Lydia that keeps her out of prison. In exchange for her disappearance Lydia must submit to the three men who are living at the plantation.

In The Erotic Dark we are introduced to all of the characters and get to see the dynamics between Lydia and the men (Preston, Kruin, and Gabriel). Each of the men are very different and their relationship with Lydia differs as well. Preston is the owner of the plantation and has lusted after Lydia since childhood, he can be very malicious and has a desire to make Lydia suffer. Kruin is controlling and has a dark side that Lydia can't help but want to explore. Gabriel on the other hand is gentle and seems at times to have real feelings for Lydia. This book is dark(ish), but not as dark as I expected. At the end of the book Lydia seems to be getting comfortable with the life she has chosen to live.

In The Erotic Light we start by seeing Lydia embracing her new life at the plantiaion. Things seem a bit bleak for Preston though...he considers Lydia his and his alone and is beginning to get angry at sharing her with Gabriel and Kruin. Especially when he sees that Lydia and Gabriel are growing close. In a bizzare twist of fate (that seems a bit oristrated) Lydia's father shows at the plantation and demands that Lydia come home with him. He has managed to work out a deal where by she will pay back the money she has stolen and will not go to jail. As her father is an important politition he is very concerned with image and forces Lydia to live with him and her mother. Preston manages to visit though and blackmails Lydia into having a relationship with him. She on the other hand realizes how much she misses Gabriel and will find a way to see him again.

There isn't much more I can say without spoiling the story. I heard that there was a few years between these books, but luckily for us they are both available now. I did prefere the first one more...it seemed a more developed storyline. The Erotic Light isn't bad, just felt a bit rushed as opposed to The Erotic Dark. Overall I give a 4 star rating and totally recommend these stories!
