If you thought Tears of Tess wasn’t dark enough, Pepper Winters brought out the black paint for Quintessentially Q. QQ is deliciously dark with some disturbing scenes. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

How can something so tragic and twisted be so beautiful and brilliant?

Not what I was expecting AT ALL! It was a million times more brilliant than I ever could have imagined. Pepper Winters pulls you back into the world of Tess and Q, deeper than you ever thought possible. QQ is simply unforgettable. It will play with your mind, haunt you for days after, and tattoo itself in your thoughts. When I close my eyes I can picture every single image that Pepper Winters has laid out between the pages. She creates something beautiful from something so horrible. She brilliantly walks the fine line between too much and not enough.

BE CAREFUL!!! This is a story that can easily be spoiled. Almost everything in QQ is unexpected so saying too much could ruin the experience for others – it happened to me, I read a seemingly innocent review that mentioned something that happened and it ended up being something quite significant. QQ is such a special work of art that you really don’t need someone to tell you about the storyline – it truly does stand on its own. But, I will say this about the story itself…… Monsters come back to haunt both Tess and Q, and a very unexpected monster rears its fierce and ugly head. Tess and Q must fight for what is theirs. But, are they strong enough to defeat that of brand monster? Tess and Q find out what happens when you unknowingly taunt a sleeping monster. And, the monster finds out what happens when you taunt Q.

Pepper Winters is a wicked genius with words! Her writing is so fluid and flawless, you'd think it was impossible unless you have read her work. What she can create with mere words is nothing short of beautiful and exquisite. Her choice of words provides a rare kind of depth to her writing. She creates a page-turner that is next to impossible to put down. You need't look any farther than the prologue to get hooked.

I love the fact that Pepper didn't shy away from what some might consider taboo and very dark. The characters acknowledge the fact that their needs are dark, but accept it without guilt or shame because that is who they are. Pepper tackles some very difficult situations and makes no apologies for it. Watering it down or making is less raw would have been disappointing, and I'm glad she went after it and did it right.

A Pepper Winters book isn’t just a story, it’s an experience. She pays attention to EVERY LITTLE DETAIL – from the cover image to the symbolism to the art between the pages. All of these things mix together to create a one-of-a-kind reading experience.

Pepper Winters is an automatic one-click author for me. I will read ANYTHING she writes!!!!
